Fusing isn’t just for Argentium and fine silver -- you can fuse regular, copper-alloyed sterling, too. Students will fuse sterling silver, create texture with a torch, and add two Argentium sterling bands for a contrasting border to make a couple of gorgeous silver rings.
Project will be completed in class. This class is held at the Bead & Button Show 2013 in Milwaukee, WI.
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring: Bench block, permanent marker (pointed), safety glasses. Bring an apron and dish towel size rag, both in natural cotton fabric. Optional: Low power magnifiers (1.25 - 2x) like head band magnifiers, reading glasses, or clip on magnifiers), and a small, portable task lamp. Instructor will bring all other tools and supplies, including torches and butane, for students to share during class.
Pliers: Chainnose without grooves, flatnose standard, flush side-cutting.
Materials in Kit: Sterling sheet, Argentium wire, sandpaper, full-color step-by-step handout.
