Cost: $250.00

This 2 day class in Metal Clay techniques is designed for both beginning students and those seeking to refresh skills and learn new ones.

Students will design and make six charms to be displayed on a linked bracelet. A new technique will be taught with each charm, includes forming, texturizing, stone setting, filigree syringe work, curved surface construction, and setting a glass component. The bracelet will be secured with a bar and toggle clasp, also fabricated with metal clay.

Metal clay is accessible and easy to use at home. You can form and fabricate your jewelry while the metal is in clay form, and then fire it into pure silver with or torch or table top kiln. Metal clay is also available in other metals, like copper. Stones can be set in the clay and fired in place, too!

Techniques taught:
• Metal clay basics of forming
• Setting stones
• Creating textures
• Filligree syringe work
• Fabricating curved surfaces
• Integrating a glass component into your metal clay

A kit fee of $75 is due to the instructor on the first day of class for materials to make the sample projects. Use of tools included. Each student has their own bench to use during class.
