Metal clay is a fantastic material for making hollow forms. This class is for students who want to learn to create hollow formed jewelry with copper and silver metal clay. Skills learned and practiced include: forming and connecting components to create light weight beads, the use of organic and non-organic armatures as a base for hollow work and the techniques to create filigree beads.
Day one: students will use copper clay and receive a thorough introduction into the forming, firing and finishing of this medium. Day two: studenst will enhance their skills with silver clay.
Kit fee of $70 due to instructor on the first day. Use of tools included.
Previous experience with the basics of metal clay fabrication, like Basic Metal Clay, Metal Clay and Argentium or Metal Clay Charm Bracelet.
